We would be more than happy to come out and look at that but there is a chance for you to fix it on your own. Many times the disposal needs to be unjammed or reset. If you have a moment, I can walk you through a couple of possible solutions. We would prefer to save you, your time and money and I would hate for us to send a tech out there when you can fix this on your own. I certainly understand if you prefer us to send someone out.

Reset/Unjam
1. Have you tried to reset your garbage disposal? If not, you can locate the small reset button underneath the unit. On most models it is red, but it may be black or have writing that indicates it is the reset button. Press the reset button. If the disposal does not come on, the unit may be jammed.

2. If the garbage disposal turns on but makes a humming noise and the blades do not move, the blades may be locked up. Use the Allen wrench and put in the base of the garbage disposal and go back and forth pretty vigorously till it frees up. Use the reset button again and try once more to turn on.

3. You may also check the breaker to ensure it has not been tripped or reset the GCFI. The other thing you can check before we come out is the outlet underneath the sink to make sure it works, I would suggest trying to plug something in that you can test to make sure it is not gone out.
If the garbage disposal is leaking at the base, it needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, it cannot be repaired.

We can certainly help you with unjamming your disposal. We have a $50 service fee that gets the Tech out to your home.

Once the tech comes out, he will let you know the price before he begins any work.

Proceed with schedule availability:
We can get you scheduled for (give next available day/time options) and as we get openings we will do our best to get your repair prioritized on our schedule.

Hi There,

I am so sorry you are having issues with your disposal.

To reset your disposal:

can locate the small reset button underneath the unit. On most models it is red, but it may be black or have writing that indicates it is the reset button. Press the reset button. If the disposal does not come on, the unit may be jammed.

To unjam your disposal:

If the garbage disposal turns on but makes a humming noise and the blades do not move, the blades may be locked up. Use the Allen wrench and put in the base of the garbage disposal and go back and forth pretty vigorously till it frees up.  Use the reset button again and try once more to turn on.

You may also check the breaker to ensure it has not been tripped or the GCFI. The other thing you can check before we come out is the outlet underneath the sink to make sure it works, I would suggest trying to plug something in that you can test to make sure it is not gone out.

If the garbage disposal is leaking at the base, it more than likely needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, when leaking it cannot be repaired.
